&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;Em 2005, Paula Oliveira formou um novo grupo, com arranjos a cargo de Bernardo Moreira, com a intenção de trazer para o universo do Jazz vários clássicos da música portuguesa. Com este grupo gravou o álbum &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Lisboa Que Adormece&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; (Universal), com Bruno Santos como convidado especial, e apresentou-se num grande número de concertos em salas e festivais por todo o país e no estrangeiro.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;Acompanhada pelos mesmos músicos e novamente sob a direcção musical de Bernardo Moreira, lança em Novembro de 2007 um novo álbum, intitulado &lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Fado Roubado&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; (Universal), mais uma vez dedicado a uma leitura jazzística da música portuguesa, que vem apresentar ao Mudas Jazz Sessions. Alguns dos autores seleccionados para este disco têm ainda o mérito de ser bandeiras de uma época: os anos sessenta/setenta em que para os Festivais da Canção eram convidados poetas como Ary dos Santos, de ironia afiada ou de paixão confessa, e com ele Fernando Tordo em alguns dos seus melhores momentos. Não estava sozinho, havia outros a brilhar nos nossos palcos. Ansiava-se por uma sociedade livre, onde a arte finalmente respirasse. Presta-se aqui homenagem a esses precursores que sonharam a liberdade, sem esquecer outros, eleitos pela qualidade trovadoresca das suas composições. Vamos ouvir Carlos Paredes, com a sua guitarrra portuguesa tão intensa; Zeca Afonso, o trovador da revolta; Alexandre O’Neil, o lisboeta convicto, entre a tertúlia de café e um vôo de horizonte alargado; a comovente Sophia de Mello Breyner; Amélia Muge, numa dupla autoria de música e letra e, last but not least, Fernando Pessoa, em versos de puro fado que não destoam do permanente desassossego que lhe é próprio. Não há maior nem mais bela homenagem. O trabalho sobre a memória artística traz-nos a dimensão da alma. À música, incantatória, acrescenta Paula o segredo do dizer bem. A palavra poética transporta o seu próprio movimento, e é de notar como os músicos respeitaram a “solenidade e risco” (entenda-se memória e inovação) de que fala Sophia num dos textos. A concepção dos arranjos permite o brilho dos solos, de luz mais clara ou mais sombria, e de um lirismo ao mesmo tempo expressivo e contido, como é próprio da verdadeira criação. &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Yvette Centeno&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;

São todos parte da comunidade jazzística de Nova Iorque, a mais vibrante e criativa do mundo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;O Workshop cobre vários aspectos relevantes da vida do músico improvisador. O objectivo fundamental é mostrar aos alunos o que devem fazer para despertar a sua criatividade interior, e para elevarem os seus conhecimentos (qualquer que seja o seu nível) a um nível superior de excitação.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;Este Workshop tem sido apresentado com grande sucesso nos seguintes locais : Taller de Músics, Barcelona ; Escuela de Música Creativa, Madrid ; Maine Jazz Camp, Maine, USA ; Oficinas de Jazz, Guimarães, Portugal; e será apresentado este Outono em ESMUC, Barcelona.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;DESCRIÇÃO DO WORKSHOP&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;A aula dividir-se-á em duas partes de cerca de 01h 20m cada, com um intervalo de 20 minutos. No total, terá a duração de cerca de 3 horas.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;Na primeira parte, o quarteto tocará algumas composições num formato de pequeno concerto, durante 45 minutos. Aos estudantes serão facultadas previamente cópias das músicas e assim podem acompanhar a música observando as partituras.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;Depois do concerto, a banda explicará o conceito e abordará detalhes respeitantes a distintos aspectos técnicos das composições e à forma como é feita a abordagem de cada tema, cada solo, cada acorde, etc. Seguir-se-á um tempo de perguntas e respostas, sendo intenção do quarteto promover um diálogo vivo com os participantes no Workshop.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#663300;"&gt;Na segunda metade da aula, os alunos serão convidados a tocar com a banda, que proporá temas naturalmente adequados ao nível de execução dos participantes. Se o número de alunos for elevado, poderão formar-se vários grupos, trabalhando sobre diferentes temas. The pianist, known for his Portuguese/Brazilian jazz, displays his classical training here. Silence and space prevail, as this very thoughtful recording unfolds. Connection to Bill Evans are made, yet Sassetti eschews the melancholy for sober thoughtfulness. Comprising two-thirds originals the recording is balanced by covers that include Rodgers and Hart and Thelonious Monk. In these tracks, you appreciate the exactitude and feeling Sassetti conjures from his instrument. Monk's gruffness is replaced with Sassetti's precision, yet nothing of Monk's spirit is lost in this perfect translation of poetry.

Sassetti é hype. É verdade, mas não é culpa dele. Ou talvez seja. Ele aperfeiçoou a sua música e cada vez mais pessoas gostam. Quer seja através do genial “Ascent” ou deste irmão menor “Alice”, Sassetti conquista-nos. Que o hype se mantenha por muito tempo, se Sassetti continuar a fazer música sublime. E que venha a glória internacional, que é merecida.

Enquanto a incógnita for superior à certeza, a música de Bernardo Sassetti não perderá o encanto do seu “carácter abstracto, suspenso, inacabado”.

É, em última análise, dessa inspirada reciprocidade entre composição e execução que surgem obras de tão elevada perfeição quanto esta, em relação à qual se deverá esperar tudo menos a indiferença do público. (...) A verdade é que neste trio o entendimento é tão forte que cada um consegue prever os caminhos que os outros vão seguir e assim preparar-se para a justa resposta imediata. (...) O profundo conhecimento que cada um tem dos outros dois parceiros, do modo como funcionam, e da sua qualidade musical, da sua personalidade, não poderia resultar num jazz estéril e inerte, sem direito à surpresa.
